Il pomo d’oro

Il pomo d’oro is an orchestra assembled in 2012 by Gesine Lübben and Giulio d’Alessio, drawing on the best young talent available worldwide. They combined period performance expertise with superb technical achievement and artistic passion. Since 2016, the orchestra has been led by Maxim Emelyanychev, a young Russian musician who also plays solo harpsichord, fortepiano and cornetto. Il pomo d’oro collaborates with world-class singers on recordings and in performances, rediscovering operatic masterpieces from the Baroque to the bel canto era. The group is a regular guest at distinguished venues such as the Théâtre Royal at Versailles, Wigmore Hall, the Theater an der Wien and the Théâtre des Champs Elysées.
