ANDREJ POWER (b. 1988) was appointed 1st Leader with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic in 2014, being the youngest ever appointee to this position in the orchestra’s 117-year history. He made his solo début in a performance of Wieniawski’s Concerto in D minor at the early age of 6 and entered the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm to study with Henryk Kowalski at the age of 15. His competition placements and prizes include the ‘Prix du public’ at the Verbier Festival.
Power has performed worldwide with orchestras such as the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Utah Symphony, the Beijing National Opera, the Moscow Philharmonic and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera in Stockholm. He has been a Guest Leader with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra.
