Aurora Marthens

Soprano AURORA MARTHENS (b.1992 in Espoo) won the first national Helsinki Lied competition with pianist Elias Miettinen in 2015 and the Timo Mustakallio competition in 2017. She also reached the semi-finals of the international Glyndebourne Opera Cup in 2018 and won 3rd prize in the Lappeenranta Singing Competition in 2019.

In addition to appearances with orchestras in Finland (including Mozart’s Requiem with Ville Matvejeff and the Jyväskylä Sinfonia and Rossini’s Stabat Mater at the Organ Night and Aria festival with Klaus Mäkelä and the Tapiola Sinfonietta), her performances include e.g. singing the part of Solveig in Grieg’s incidental music to Peer Gynt with the Orquesta Nacional in Spain. In July 2020, she made her début at the Savonlinna Opera Festival as Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen.
