His many acclaimed operatic roles include Don José (Carmen) in Aix-en-Provence, Alfredo (La traviata) at the Metropolitan and Glyndebourne, and Jacopo Foscari (I due Foscari) at the Teatro Real in Madrid. He has appeared as Rodolfo in La bohème at the Lyric Opera in Chicago, the Royal Opera in London and the Metropolitan in New York. His performance as Lensky in Eugene Onegin at the Royal Opera House gained unprecedented acclaim from critics. His débuts in summer 2019 include the Berlin State Opera, where he will appear as the Duke in Rigoletto.

In 2015, Michael Fabiano received the prestigious Helpmann Award in Australia for Best Male Performance in an Opera for his portrayal of the title role in Gounod’s Faust with Opera Australia.
