Kathryn Lewek

American soprano KATHRYN LEWEK studied voice at the Eastman School of Music and received two prizes at the Operalia World Opera competition in 2013. She is particularly known for her performances as the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute at numerous top venues (e.g. the Lyric Opera in Chicago, the Vienna State Opera, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, the Metropolitan Opera, the English and Welsh National Operas, the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Danish Royal Opera). Her repertoire also includes Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Deutsche Oper in Berlin), Terese in Benvenuto Cellini (Liceu in Barcelona) and Ginevra in Ariodante (Salzburg Festival). She has also appeared in concert for instance in Handel’s Messiah at Carnegie Hall and in Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with the Montréal Symphony Orchestra.
